The Calais School Mission |
||
The Calais School is a private, non-profit school for students with learning disabilities in grades K - 12. It provides a safe, nurturing, academically-challenging environment in which young people learn to focus on their subject matter while developing new behaviors and academic strategies in a non-judgmental atmosphere. The healthy core values that The Calais School offers its students real help for life in the real world. Students come to Calais by referral from local school districts, therapists, and counselors throughout 9 northern New Jersey counties. Concerned parents often initiate this process as well. In many ways, The Calais School and its certified staff offer hope to both students and their families…the hope of learning how to be at peace with oneself, of not being teased by peers for being different, and how to accept those that do. The healthy core values that The Calais School offers its students help them become students for and of life. |
